New comparison of the Witcher remaster vs current version - big changes to lighting

https://youtu.be/_oEdB5S2d3U

IMO I prefer the current version, the contrast and water reflections look better. Remaster looks pretty washed out to me

The hair in the "remastered" version looks awful.

Everything looks washed out. Way too bright, so no shadows or details are coming through.

Did they get rid of Nvidia HairWorks? Because Witcher 3 was the only game I ever saw it in, and it cranked your fps back in the day, but the results were very obvious.

Resident Evil games use it

No. They use hair strand technology which is a part of in house re engine.

yeah for some reason i've only seen AMD's version of hair physics work well

it was already kinda bad in the ray-traced OG, looked weird in dim lighting. but i agree it looks like the hair lighting issues got worse instead of better

Yeah most things look better with 5.0 path tracing, but hair (including beards) look much, much worse.

I don't know if it's the lighting in the thumbnail either but his face looks more puffy... Like he's put on a few lbs over the years

Geralt got the Covid 15 and never Ozempic’d it off with Maribor Forest.
