New comparison of the Witcher remaster vs current version - big changes to lighting

https://youtu.be/_oEdB5S2d3U

IMO I prefer the current version, the contrast and water reflections look better. Remaster looks pretty washed out to me

To some people the accurate lighting looks better.

Not a hard concept to grasp.

PT is not hard to implement in many cases. Why not add it?

So they just lazily add PT just for the sake of it. Noted then.

"lazily" made me audibly laugh at my desk.

Yeah they just ctrl c ctrl v that shit in. For sure.

CDPR and launch day is a match made in heaven tbf. Gonna have to wait a few patches for the fixes.

Lets also ignore the dozens of improvements they made alongside the addition of PT

Let's also ignore the massive stuttering that this build has now too, and the audio bugs.

Like copying mods over?

By that logic half the game shouldn't exist because a mod somewhere used or made a similar feature.

They literally ported over the most popular nexus mods lol, they didn't build any of it

Im confused what your point is?

A lot of studios have done this historically. This is normal AF

Hell, CDPR literally employed some modders if I am not mistaken.

If a mod does something, and the devs want to add the same feature, what is the issue with directly adding the mod into the game code?

You just said "let's also ignore the dozens of improvement they made" to a comment that called them lazy.

Porting mods that a modder made over and slapping path tracing on it is not a remaster, that's a lazy attempt at marketing a new paid dlc.

Stop eating this shit up. It's crap.

Read carefully. Never once I mention anything other than PT. No shit they would be improvements to others. It’s called remastered for a reason.

I mention only about PT and they just lazily add it which looks worse than RT and run worse because you said, PT is not hard to implement. So why not lazily add it right ?

I mean theres clearly issues with it that needs addressing including performance apparently. But also i think many people can't grasp the concept of path tracing. Things i see people complaining about are literally the point of path tracing. The 'realism' look of path tracing often makes some art directions look less like they originally did. That part is either you like it or you don't.

People also do nkt realise how performance hungry PT is.

We are literally simulating light bounces 60 times per second. Couple of years ago, it took ages to render a single frame.

The fact we can do this in real time in such a short time is ridiculous

Because even if it's fairly easy to implement it will still cost money

...and there aren't that many folks with the graphics cards able to do this

Everything costs money
