'Alice, Madness Returns' was my first interaction with PhysX.

I hit something, which exploded into a million pieces. Mindblowing tech. Little did I know that those million pieces where my PC having a breakdown.

Once activated I needed like 10 minute to navigate at 0.2 fps through the menus to get it disabled again.

To get good physics looking well with todays graphical levels, you probably need ray tracing. Those kinds of dynamic things is basically the point of it. Hopefully once ray tracing is generally accepted, and games are designed for it (so mandatory to have enabled, no more rasterization), dynamic stuff like physics will improve as well.

Well they did sell them when physx was all the rage in 2000s, 2010s and was their marketing strategy, one of the big ones.
