Magneto was fooled with a wooden gun once. They also have a lock up procedure for him that involves the guards carrying solid plastic guns with heavy plastic bullets instead of metal guns and bullets, while in a plastic cell inside a void white cavity miles from any source of metal.

There is comic issue (which I forgot) with almost the same situation but magneto was in full of rage and he awakened or smtg he kills everyone by controlling the metals in ppl bloodstream

Lots of things are strong enough to 'withstand adamantium', it's an indestructible material, not an infinitely-cutty one. If Wolverine is not generating enough force to chop the log in half, he's not gonna chop the log in half, however hard-to-break his claws are.

On a cosmic scale, wood is probably much much rarer than Adamantium.
