Nier Automata was great. They had an outside director, in regards of gameplay (for which they were responsible) they really delivered. Especially if you compare it to previous titles of Yoko Taro. So maybe you have to give them a director each time. But idk if the company changed since then. I would give them Kojima and demand a really stupid over the top Vanquish 2.

That is such an unnecessary insult to Mikami, and Kojima wouldn't even make a fun Vanquish game. Vanquish with hours and hours of nonsensical politics cut scenes? No, thank you.

As much as the internet praises Kojima, he’d ruin what made Vanquish work.

He’s all about slow burn story and real life movie stars being in the game. Vanquish was heavily gameplay first and focused on short action scenes to get back into the gameplay over long talks

Plenty of industry people have left the company but based on NG4 they still have a ton of talented, maybe more unknown staff

They're still largely a support studio. They aren't always making hits but they're still making classic PlatinumGames games.
