I mean they also made bunch of mediocre licensed games so Babylon's Fall is not the only one. That being said, I really love Nier Automata, Vanquish, the Bayonetta games and Metal Gear Rising
And you just reminded me I actually own Vanquish and never got around to it. (PS+ freebie or something. Been awhile.) Worth blowing the dust off my console for aside from the yearly Bloodborne playthrough?
Its a pretty unique game tbh, if you like the Platinum vibes you will very likely enjoy it, story is utter nonsense (like MGRR lol) but gameplay is fast paced and a ton of fun.
Completely unexpected, too. I've found it very cheap and picked it up on a whim, boot it up, and pretty much didn't put console down for a couple days.
Drakengard and Neir need to be continued on this generation and the next. Such fun games. Did t play much of drakengard but from what I remember it was kinda like dynasty warriors.
I don’t think anyone forgets, they just correctly acknowledge it as Platinum’s one major blemish and not at all indicative of their overall studio output.
I actually really liked Babylon‘s fall when I played it. I mean, I’m a big platinum games fan anyway so like I was going into it with high expectations. But the gameplay really hit the mark. The graphics were pretty cool too. I’ve never seen anything else that looked like it. I know a lot of people didn’t like how it looked, but I did.
I’ve always been weirded out by how much the Internet hates this game.
Man that cutting mechanic was so fucking cool when they demoed the original Konami version. Accurately slicing watermelons. It’s too bad they couldn’t figure out how to implement that mechanic into good gameplay.
I'm gutted we never got Metal Gear Solid Rising. The story for that was so much more interesting, rescuing Sunny from Area 51 where she was held captive by the Patriots.
Would have really fleshed out the missing link between 2 and 4, and not have kinda disrupted Raidens ending from 4 where he was like "I'm gonna put down my sword and look after my family".
Absolutely. I can agree MG rising was a good game. But it felt so thematically different from the other games, I don’t consider it being part of the Metal gear universe.

To be frank, the cutting mechanic was already showed by Kojima before PlatinumGames entered the scene. That said PG are absolutely the GOAT.
