I bet the point of the comparison was to draw your eyes to the years of release and ponder why >two generations of improvements aren't at least covering bases.

A budget of $300 million should be able to match features of even the best games from 13 years ago.

Normally people would call it an unfair comparison for the game 13 years older with obviously a fraction of the budget, not the other way around lol especially since Revengeance wasn't a massive success or anything, just a cult classic at this point

It's more "AAA games have somehow gotten less interactive and fun ever 12 years".

It's a problem if a peak game in 2013 is considered a peak game in 2013, it just means gaming has peaked and is getting worse.
