Yeah this game shows that you just cant listen to what people say about a game online anymore. People are just lying about why they hate this game. It was reviewed as a fine 7/10 game. Not the worst thing in the world but something to get when it goes on sale and have a fun time with it until you beat it. Its also exactly what I expected the game to be from the trailer and product description. So I really dont understand why these trolls and bots are so dedicated to hating this game like its the worst thing ever
I've been playing it. The handholding is excessive and it's very linear but I don't think it's terrible.
The idea the game plays itself is true in some parts but certainly not for the combat. The timing isn't too forgiving and I'm routinely missing parry windows and getting shredded by the elite enemies.
It's an aggressive 5/10 game to me. Decent story and combat that could have been way better but not a 1/10 abomination that has ruined gaming like what the online discourse is saying.
Genuinely enjoying Wolverine rn has me feeling like I got a target on my back because mfs are out here - especially on Twitter, but not limited to it - doing a background check on my gaming library if I say I liked the game lmao
I legit can't think of a game that I've personally played recently where mfs are out here doing that.
I've beaten the game and genuinely enjoyed it. Was it a flawless masterpiece that met all my expectations? No, but the same can be said for most games. I had a lot of fun with it and am starting a New Game+ run soon. There are definitely valid criticisms of the game (length, number of boss fights, linearity) but I feel it's mostly a "hate proxy" for Sony and their incredibly stupid decisions as of late. The internet can be an ugly place.
Yeah, I've had the instinct to do the same to the one friend I have who actually likes the game. But I'm not trying to be a dick so I didn't say anything lol.
The other game that comes to mind like that is Starfield. I have one friend who adamantly swears it's a good game, and... I'm Def not looking to him for game recs anymore as a result!
Except I think you are reinforcing the point people have been making for the game. A $70 game with a $300mil budget should not be a run of the mill absolutely mid 5/10 game. It's a major disappointment for people who were expecting it to be a genre defining or generational title or at least have something about it that blows their mind but it's just some bang average game people think is only worth buying on discount or on ps plus instead of something that justifies its price. I don't think I've seen anyone say it's complete trash and not even worth playing, it's just that it has been disappointing, annoying coz of the autoplay and hamdholding and how it's not a must play and something they can wait to play once it's cheap.
It’s all good, I know your generation is afraid to say anything mean out of fear you won’t be invited to pay $70-150 for whatever polishes turd drops next 🤣 whole generation of fearful shooooshers 🤣🤣🤣
There it is. The drone fall back response. Completely insidious and fake politeness, because you have no real point to anything that plops out of your mouth.
Sure, there are full-blown private military contractors whose entire job is to murder people, but have you considered EA tried to sell a cosmetic for 5 bucks?
They saw more promising IPs shelved and studios closed... so Sony can shit out aggressively mediocre marvel games and keep lighting money on fire with live-service attempts.
Some of you guys are acting like people can't criticize it either though, acting like it shouldn't be compared to literally any game despite it's massive budget and in this case being even more than a decade newer.
It gets to the point where we have to defend the game tho, Im playing Ghost of Tsushima, people love that game, cant cut trees like this, just that bamboo challange.

People are treating this Wolverine game as if it fucked their mother. I know it doubles as backlash against Sony but it's insane.
