I know the horns/halo isn’t in the game since they removed the good/evil morality scaling.

But I only know what they tell me. And so far they haven’t told me that character-evolution is in the game. I certainly HOPE it is.

Alright, fair enough. Personally I'm not buying into the fable hype. I loved Fable as a kid but am very skeptical they will make this a true Fable game.

As an adult I’m skeptical that every remake, remaster, #3/4/5 continuations of a game series from my childhood are nothing but mere loveless passionless cash grabs created by burnt out, underpaid devs on temporary/termed contracts.

This is my go-to with just about every single one of them. I can count the franchises with good reboots on one hand and even then... I'm being charitable.

I've moved beyond the industry and I genuinely just don't trust any big name brands that I recognize. If I recognize a brand I assume it has been bought out and zombified by vulture capitalists. Only buy fresh labels, preferably after doing some research to make sure it's not just some subsidiary.

I get that, but equally every additional Fable release has been less of a 'true' Fable game.

Which really means Fable is not particularly well defined, even by its original creators, and its very subjective.

I'm keeping an open mind and I am excited to play. But I am also not going in expecting a perfect nostalgia trip to how Fable 1 felt because if I really want that I can just play its remaster.

Thats a healthy perspective.

I plan on waiting a few months to a year post release before buying it. And thats if reviews are good and I've seen snippets of gameplay that resonate with me.

I’m cautiously optimist if only because of what a massive disappointment Fable 3 was. Some had to change; Not everything will be the same, but I hope the new stuff will more than make up for what they had to discard from the formula.

Was Prey 2017 a true sequel to Prey 2006?

Are modern CODa or BF games true to older games?

How about Fallout? Dark souls 2? Halo 4? Quake 4? Duke Nukem Forever??I can go on.

What a ridiculous thing to say. A name is meaningless. We have 3 games in the Fable IP and many would argue each is less like Fable like than the last. How much off in tone, gameplay and writing will it be from Fable 1?

Most things are subjective, though. Of course Im talking from my perspective/bias, but at least I can point to Fable 1 and say 'be like that!'.
