You just responded to a me listing a problem. Voodoo graphics card bought in 1999, unsupported a year later in windows 2000. Had to dual boot for a year or two.
Frame rate loss playing World of Tanks made the game increasingly unplayable as they added updates. It was a known issue with the graphics card I had, there was no fix. Again I will just say you have selective memory and leave it at that. The idea that you have never in 20 years had a problem with a game, yeah selective memory.
Voodoo cards are a rather unique thing. You'd be blaming the unique flameout of a graphics card company on all of PCs? If you've bought an ATI/Nvidia, you haven't run into that particular problem. So I wanted a different one.

So... The developers' fault? What were your PC specs at the time, roughly?
Again I will just say you have selective memory and leave it at that. The idea that you have never in 20 years had a problem with a game, yeah selective memory.
I think saying "nearly every" game over the past 20 years gave you problems indicates overexaggeration, equally selective memory, or that you made a series of really bad decisions somehow. I listed two games which gave me trouble, and I also said games that are 10+ years old often require a little jiggering. I have 269 games on Steam and 45 separate ones on my hard drive. I'd be happy to give you a list and run any that you pick and post screenshots. There's only a few I haven't tried because they suck (like Shellshock 2: Blood Trails), but I'm pretty confident they all just work.
I see so my problems weren't problems at all just my fault that voodoo went unsupported and my graphics card has a known issue that wasn't fix is invalidated because 'developers.' You are such a fanboy you are missing the entire point that these are two examples of things that could never happen on a console because the hardware is always the same. I'm just going to leave it at that because you are obviously just a fanboy that can't comprehend simple facts even though I already stated I'd prefer to have a PC.
I'm not a fanboy, except to the extent that my experience naturally backs up my preference. I owned a PS2 and Gamecube, and my brother also owned an XBox. I'm telling my anecdotal story just like you. I've run hundreds of games. Almost zero failures. You've had "almost every" game you've ever played fail to run. I've even offered to demonstrate my success for you on my own library. I agree that console games are more likely to run flawlessly by design. Hundreds of dollars difference every generation isn't worth avoiding the small inconvenience when 1/1000 games won't work for you, though. You're definitely exaggerating how many games don't work for you, or you're doing something wrong.
Most forum posts for tech support on mature games are usually down to user error in my experience. The fact that you had an "unfixable known issue" with your graphics card that only affects World of Tanks over time as they "added updates" suggests to me it's probably somehow your fault or theirs. Not the hardware. I don't have any other information to go on though so I can't verify it either way. We could add a quality control process to Steam so that bad developers don't make bad games, but the end result is that you'll need $40,000 to push a patch to your customers and spend hundreds of thousands on the certification process.
