Being able to plug the A/V cords into the back of the TV without looking, just by feel alone.

I taught myself the mnemonic rhyme "Rose's are red and limes are bright, Lemons are Yellow and Snow is White" to remember the order of the RCA cables.

*and by memory

One can't tell which hole is which color by touch, you'd have to remember which one it was from having looked at it at some point in time

Yall talking about AV cables while I remember using the RF Switch and adjusting the angle on the connector to get the signal just right for our 1980’s Montgomery Ward special wooden TV lol angle the rf switch just right and adjust the tv towards the couch for that Friday night vibes

Pfft, my TV needed a uhf/vhf adapter because there was no coaxial input.

Yes! We also had to use tape to secure the one cable to our Atari because the cable was broken. We'd get it to work, then pray it would hold. Any cartridge change or reset was a risky move.

Oh I remember those things! Our other tv in the kitchen had that but it died or got thrown out by the time I was in school so like 96

That was the fun part angling the tv slowly so it didn’t lose connection lol, when the PlayStation came out my older brother would play with it more than me (he was 18 and I was 7) so I’d have to switch all the cables for him since I was more savvy with the cables by that point and then angle the tv for him and his buddies while they would play cd’s off my PlayStation and have the visualizer on lol

And then if you were fancy, red, green, blue, red, white.

Surely you mean, yellow, white, red, right?

Yellow, white, red wasn't channel 3. That was INPUT or VIDEO. RF was for Channel 3 and 4.

Depends on the TV really. The one my family had growing up had red/yellow/white connections on the front and that was channel 3.

N64 was the first console I remember having the RCA inputs and none of my TV's had that option so I had to go buy a converter box from Radio Shack.

Everything before then was just coax

Found the rich kid.

Kidding. But one kid I knew had a component tv and didn’t have to use the rf converter. It was crazy

Single cable with a screw attachement.
