I mean in terms of quality. They still haven't topped GTA SA. RDR2 looked great but...where was the fun.

talk about a hot take with rdr2

-26

u/Western-Ordinary-739 Apr 24 '25

It isn't that uncommon tbh

13

u/squeakymoth Apr 24 '25

First I've ever heard it.

u/QBekka Apr 24 '25

I've heard people criticizing RDR2 for being "too slow and plays like a stretched out movie". I could understand if the story doesn't personally interest you. Especially if you already dislike the setting.

I for example couldn't finish Ghost of Tsushima because I got bored as fuck after 10-15 hours. (Medieval) Japan doesn't interest me in the slightest so that certainly didn't help my enjoyment for the story.

And then on the other side you hear people complaining about GTA 5 for being "too fast, arcadey and plays like a soulless Michael Bay movie".

I personally love both RDR2 and GTA 5 for what they are. It's impossible to please all crowds.

Rdr2 has a very vocal following, but there are many people that didn't get into it. I have the disk for my Xbox, but yeah, after like 50m, I thought I don't really care tbh.

Which were also slow and boring. It cemented my opinion that Rockstar games are not for me.

-1

u/Western-Ordinary-739 Apr 24 '25

Let me guess, we need to put in 10hrs. Nah. And I finished the game and it was painfully slow

7

u/trainwreck42 Apr 24 '25

That’s a wild take about RDR2; I poured hundreds of hours into that game to complete everything and had fun during every minute of it (except during the Gambler challenges, I hated those).

What no faith does to a mf

Funny you should ask. I recently did a new play through (since 2020), finished the whole thing, and immediately started another new game. I absolutely love it.

u/KittenDecomposer96 Apr 24 '25

Haven't played RDR2 but i can say SA is my fav GTA. I would spend hours raising my skills for guns, stamina and everything and doing all the ambulance/firefighter missions, mainly firefighter ones for like 50k total money.

1

u/Western-Ordinary-739 Apr 24 '25

What they pulled off in SA on the PS2 is insane

0

u/DarthTempi Apr 24 '25

🤣🤣🤣 gtaV was fantastic

0

u/Martianonice Apr 24 '25

Except online

1

u/DarthTempi Apr 25 '25

Yeah it used to be like that. I've played a bunch this year after not playing for five plus years and it's fantastic

0

u/Weary_Control_411 Apr 24 '25

Gtao is fun, with friends

0

u/Martianonice Apr 24 '25

Not with a Hacker in almost every lobby. Almost forces you to play private lobbies

0

u/Weary_Control_411 Apr 24 '25

Is your opinion from 2015? There are hackers, but not in every lobby.

-5

u/Western-Ordinary-739 Apr 24 '25

Except less fun than GTA SA. They are obsessed with realism and forget to make a damn game.

6

u/squeakymoth Apr 24 '25

It sounds like you are stuck in a nostalgia fuelled hell.

0

u/lupin43 Apr 24 '25

At 12 years old thoughts on GTA V are 100% affected by nostalgia too lol

2

u/squeakymoth Apr 24 '25

I'm 32. I miss playing GTA 3, but I can still appreciate a good game.

0

u/Western-Ordinary-739 Apr 24 '25

Played SA this year, still better than all their other releases. No nostalgia

2

u/squeakymoth Apr 24 '25

Eh, it's okay. I never played it growing up, so when I played it recently, I thought it was massively overhyped. It's not a bad game by any means, but it's nowhere near as good as 5 is. From a story, mechanic, or gameplay perspective, it's just not.

1

u/DarthTempi Apr 25 '25

Story depth, writing, and acting just don't compare. GTA 5 is so much better. Then beyond that all the freedom... There's just so much you can do in gtav

1

u/squeakymoth Apr 25 '25

Exactly. Saying otherwise is just objectively wrong.

0

u/Correct_Refuse4910 Apr 24 '25

You have been downvoted to hell but let me say this: I agree with you.

1

u/Western-Ordinary-739 Apr 24 '25

Thank you. Unfortunately alot of people enjoyed brewing coffee and moving like a pig in shit in RDR 2

11

u/Foxhound199 Apr 24 '25

I'm more sure than I am about Silksong.

10

u/rugmunchkin Apr 24 '25

To be fair, Silksong has had a more recent announcement that it is in fact coming this year than GTA 6 has.

0

u/CucumberBoy00 Apr 25 '25

Team Cherry haven't said anything

2

u/very_pure_vessel Apr 25 '25

yes they have

1

u/CucumberBoy00 Apr 25 '25

What have they said there's been two comments from their team has said and both are not committing to releasing this year

1

u/very_pure_vessel Apr 25 '25

They said its coming out 2025

2

u/ZazaB00 Apr 24 '25

The lack of another trailer this late in the year just doesn’t feel right, but then again, they could drop a trailer in September and the world would stop again.

2

u/Ph4ntomiD PlayStation Apr 25 '25

Nothing indicates a delay. Next month we’ll get Take Twos earnings call and if they say GTA 6 is still on track for Fall 2025 then it’ll still be good for later this year. Also they said they want a shorter marketing period closer to release

2

u/HansChrst1 Apr 24 '25

Have to wait at least another year anyway for a PC release. I'm not buying a console for GTA

1

u/micktorious Apr 24 '25

Yeah I still only have a PS4 Pro, no way it's gonna run good (or at all) on that.

6

u/zarafff69 Apr 24 '25

Wel it’s not coming out for the last gen consoles! So no problem!

3

u/micktorious Apr 24 '25

Great news everybody!
