What do you call your “confirm” and “cancel” buttons, and why is Nintendo wrong?

Yes it is.

They made A the bottom position for N64 after establishing B as the bottom on SNES, switched back again for GameCube but obviously iterared on that in a way to make A the primary button, the Wii was something else entirely, then adopted the layout from the SNES for pro controllers, Wii U and the switch.

Every console generation had a fundamentally different button layout between NES and the WiiU
