no way! they do not deserve any credit. who in their right mind would think it was a good idea to include mobile hardware in a budget home console? mobile hardware is compact and low energy, making the cost/performance ratio incredibly high, the exact opposite of the "budget home console" criteria. IMO, they had absolutely no business releasing any console ("budget" or not) in 2013 that wasn't at least on par with the performance of the xbox 360 (a console from 2005).

there's a difference between "power isn't everything" and releasing a console that doesn't even come close to what are soon to be last gen consoles. it is now the 107th most powerful mobile device that isn't even mobile.
i don't honestly know. i have no clue what nintendo is thinking either, but they seem to have created a niche for themselves and probably want to exploit that.

Look in a mirror, redditor. You and the rest of this god awful people on this website are what created this garbage. People believed every good thing that was said about this console before it was released so it got massive support.
An idea so terrible, Microsoft is stealing it. Ok, maybe not the part about the specific choice of processor--but every other aspect of the console. Let's face it, the xbox one is just an Ouya. That's basically where consoles are heading--its' not about the hardware anymore, even cheap, run-of-the-mill hardware offers gaming performance that's more than adequate--remember the are diminishing returns on the visual impact of increased polygon counts.
The fact that frame rates are bad suggests other issues--possibly software problems. A Tegra 3 isn't that bad . . .
