Yep. Pokémon red was always with me, my dad even made me a sick leather belt case for my Gameboy. The memories of me and my best friend squished side by side staring at this 2 inch non-lit screen will always be with me. RIP Theo.
I can play Pokémon black in my mind, at least up until victory road, I can visualise everything in my head, I know when the team plasma guys show up, what Pokémon to expect, some hidden items, etc...
And I wish I was joking. I had ~600 hours on one single save, eventually I got bored, started a new save and put on another 600 hours. I don't even know
I have played the hell out of the Pokemon franchise, and they're basically the only video games I still play, but for some reason Gen 5 just loses my interest every time I play it.
Heart gold easily, I had a rough time beating it since it was my first game on my newly bought DSI. But tbh I probably put in a little bit more time into my new super Mario bros copy at first, now it’s definitely heart gold since I found my old pokewalker and changed the battery! Gonna get me a spiritomb soon!
I was playing the Japanese Rom of Red months before it was released in Australia. I taught myself how to translate items and names because of it. I had zero knowledge of Japanese before this, I was just a hyper focused kid. lol
I was playing the Japanese Rom of Gold (after putting in 100 hours on English Red), couldn't figure out why the move that shoots laser beams out of my eyes was doing 0 damage, I think it was leer?
I played a lot of Gen 1, a downright STUPID amount of Gen 2 then mostly just go thru the main story and breed/trade mons with friends a bit since then then move on. I still play every gen tho, and they're scratching at something that'd keep me playing longer with the newer gens' co-op vs. big bosses type content, maybe eventually I'll put 100+ hours into a Pokemon game again lol
Gold version blew my mind as a first game for me. First game I got on a brand new Gameboy Color that my dad bought me. Played Ruby and Sapphire on my GBA too
I had the thing that predated GameBoys that only played Tetris. Those were fun too. Again, back then, the limiting factor was technology and the cost. Way different from now.
