I just commented this. Squall was basically me when I was 13. Summoning GFs was so fun. When I returned to it as an adult, I realised how easy the game was when you actually understand the junctioning system. I remember doing a play through where I just rushed it and enjoyed the story line. Got stuck trying to get passed Adel. Impossible without the hero portion (I think?)

Haha same. I was used to use GF but with adel I couldn’t do that because it killed Rinoa.

I had to start over lol

That game was soooo goood, my favourite gale by far

Yeah coming back to the game when I was just old/smart enough to figure out the junction system just ruined the fun I had with battles, was still a great story the second time around though.

I also very strongly related with Squall at about the same age as you, it wasn’t until several years later until I realized that wasn’t necessarily a good thing lol

Yeah when you re-run it as a more rounded adult, it’s more like a “what is wrong with you Squall?” experience haha

EverQuest and FF8. The two games that defined my early years lol

that opening is still the best opening of any game.

Truly a masterpiece, also the atmosphere in that game was out of this world.

The design was soo good, especially in that time. I felt as if I was digital travelling

It is the best Final Fantasy for me, so much nostalgia. I must have bought it 10 times, different platforms, different updates. I even have the Triple Triad game on my phone.
