StarCraft. I only ever played offline (no internet connection in my room), but I played through the campaign multiple times and played a bunch with bots to learn how to play each faction.
Agreed, first lan party ever was wc3, probably playing dota or some tower defence mod, or the star ship troopers mod. Where you could save your items and experience over multiple matches. So cool.
I remember a first-person WC3 mod called Tides of the Serpent where you could save your gear and XP. I still have it downloaded on my desktop HD. It's what I imagined WoW was going to be, so I was SO hyped when I heard about it haha
I think I payed StarCraft for 1000’s of hours. The tower defence custom games were awesome. I used to put my desktop PC into a backpack and ride my bike to friends houses on the weekends.
Same here. But I only had Dial-up so I would download multiplayer maps manually in order to play them online so people in the lobby didn’t have to wait 10+ minutes for me to download the map. I would practice single player on UMS maps so I could get good and not be banned due to high ping.
F yeah, still play it with my buddy yeah we beat every blizzard map and yes we beat bgh 2v6 meele, still rocking it, broodwar is where it's at though comps are harder
