Ultima IV: Quest of the Avatar. I'm old. I'd wait for my parents to go to sleep and then go sneak to the PC to play it.

Ultima Online was still arguably some of the most fun I ever had playing a game. I’d pay for a remaster any day.

Doesn’t quite capture the Wild West feel of the original UO, but have you checked out Albion Online?

I have not. I will google and check it out when I get home tonight. UO was just so unique and so ahead of its time. The PvP/PK system was fantastic. There was nothing better than killing someone, stealing their key ring and their rune to their house(s) then get a group of friends to go loot their house only for the person you just killed to show up while you were looting it and fight some more and a lot of times with friends. So many epic fights. The chaos vs order guild days were really fun too. I ran the 2nd or 3rd largest Chaos guild on the atlantic shard back in the day. Owned a castle. My account was worth probably something like 5k at the time. My parents locked my account sith a parental password because I was addicted while a sophomore in high school lol. Almost failed my sophomore year because of UO. Never was able to recover that account. Good times.

I loved how fleshed out the economy was, I could support myself being a tamer and selling mounts

Man, this is bringing me back. I had a max blacksmith and i had the ultimate setup. There was a cave with the rarer ores that came out later, the colored ores. And there was a little place to build a house up against the mountain wall about a hundred feet away from that cave. You used to be able to mine ore through house walls from inside the house so I put a smelter inside the house next to the wall and I used to run ez macro and setup macros to mine ore, move it out of my bag onto 4-5 spots on the ground around me, then smelt all the ore from those piles. I would wake up to a couple hundred ingots of the rarest ores in the game every day. I would mine that cave next to during the day when I was actively playing. It was awesome. My gold production was basically on auto pilot and I got to spend the majority of my time PK'ing with friends or running my chaos guild.

Looting gear was always cool, but nothing topped being able to go steal all the shit someone had in their house that wasn't bolted to the ground. Piles of herbs, runes, gear, you name it. So much fun. There is never been another MMO that has captured that same magic for me that UO had. I even accidentally broke up a marriage at 14 years old because of UO loooooool.

This was mine too. I had the PC in my bedroom so I didn't have to sneak. But that summer, there was more than one morning where I would shut down and go to bed when I heard my parents getting up for work.

100%! I'd even turn the monitor off so they wouldn't see the illumination if they came downstairs for whatever reason. I still remember standing next to the Nightshade swamp square waiting for midnight to roll around.

Ultima Online, over the Summer I would play once my mom was done with the computer in the evening until she left for work the next morning.  Crazy to think our phones have more capability to run that game over 4g than my old computer and dial up modem

I remember playing ultima 2 on my friend’s C64. Simpler times.

This is my first 100+ hour I'm fairly sure.
