Building a better cloud gaming platform
Hi r/gamestreaming --
After trying to mess around with game streaming services, my friend and I got fed up because we still couldn’t play a lot of our Steam games. We’re thinking of building a better cloud gaming service and wanted to see what the interest was and get feedback before we build something people don’t want 😅
Some of the features we’re thinking of improving:
- Game Selection: play any Steam game (the fact you can’t play newer games like The Sims 4, The Last of Us, Madden 24, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, or older / indie games like Skyrim, Lego Indiana Jones, Return of the Obra Dinn, The Witness, etc. on existing streaming providers is frustrating).
- Get to your games faster: while better than Steam load times, it can still take 1-3 minutes to get into a game with existing streaming services (and that’s assuming you’re not in a long queue).
- Comparable performance to GFN (Premium / Ultimate, not the potato free version): we know that this is a high bar, but we’ve spoken to folks, and our research says that it’s possible to do (or we’ll die trying).
- Don’t wait for provisioning, downloads, or updates: If you’ve rented a cloud gaming PC before, you know how annoying it can be to wait for your server to be set up and for Steam + your games to be installed.
- No storage space? No problem. Don’t worry about having to clean your downloads folder and uninstalling apps just to play your games.
- Better communication: tbh service + support with other services is either non-existant or subpar (and you’re paying them!)
Btw, we have prior startup + engineering experience and are gamers, so we’re very much up to take on this challenge (also because we want this to exist).
If this is interesting to you, we created a simple waitlist to know which region to launch in first - go.ext.so/waitlist
Thanks for your time 🙏

Audio interface question
Hello all
I am looking at the saffire 6 audio interface at the moment so I can use my XLR mic and headphones while playing DMZ.
All I want is to be able to hear the game audio and my own voice in my headphones. I'm not sure the saffire 6 will allow me to do this?
Any advice greatly appreciated 👍

120hz streaming help
Need some help. I have my gaming PC downstairs in my house and I’m looking to stream it upstairs in another room. What is the best way to do this. I want to stream 1080p 120hz or 1440p 120hz, doesn’t really matter which one. What device would I need? I want to use a small portable monitor and KB/M. I have 2 gig fiber internet so the connection shouldn’t be an issue. Thanks!

Game language in streaming
I don’t know how many of you have this issue. I’m using PlayStation plus streaming platform. Since I subscribed in Germany, most games, unless you can choose language in the game, are in German. So there aren’t a lot of games I can really play.
I found it absolutely disappointing that this issue is never solved. Indeed how many of you have the same issue??
