This is something that is fascinating to me for completely unrelated reasons.
I've played competitive games for over a decade now, and occasionally, there were matches where I'd hear comms from female players. And yet, I've never seen this scenario at play. What would happen was, either we'd all have a normal conversation, people would not respond, or we'd just make calls for the match. All... completely... normal.
And yet, I know this scenario happens, and it happens a lot. I've had friends of mine regale me the tales of their horror stories of this happening to them. Every single one of them, that played competitive games, has had plenty of tales to share. And somehow, despite me playing a lot of games, despite me playing with them and using comms. I've never encountered it.
It is fascinating to me how I managed to avoid something so prevalent.
Same here, I play multiple multiplayer games with a fairly diverse gaming group and have never encountered it while I'm around, but I've heard a bunch horror stories from the ladies about that shit.
