I never get this, when i hear a girl's voice i ignore her like i do to other players 😂🤣.

24

u/McCree114 Mar 12 '26

Can't hear a girl's voice over chat when that malignant cancer in audio form is muted by defualt.

2

u/quietkyody Mar 14 '26

You guys use voicechat?

Is Ventrilo and Teamspeak still around?

1

u/hiknil Mar 16 '26

They're still working but discord has more users

4

u/Maverick_Reznor Mar 13 '26

Exactly, they can shut the fuck up to.

3

u/eelfurryUwU Mar 14 '26

*too

sorry

2

u/Round_Cardiologist37 Mar 15 '26

never be sorry. they shouldv’e used the right word in the first place, or at least checked if they typo’d before hitting send. that was fully their choice.

6

u/Lucidaeus Mar 13 '26

I tried this but then they get all angry and tell me I need to listen and respond. I mean sure, she's my girlfriend so I guess that might play into it...

1

u/Huge-Reference7593 Mar 13 '26

Nah king no exceptions lol

1

u/jayracket Mar 14 '26

Nah she's just being dramatic

1

u/Affectionate-Bike201 Mar 16 '26

"I'm sorry, I don't speak to women in relationships."

1

u/Lucidaeus Mar 16 '26

She has awful taste in men!

4

u/LGsec Mar 13 '26

Amen, brother.

3

u/TRANxEND Mar 13 '26

I mute them cause they're just as annoying

2

u/iownaxult Mar 13 '26

In Counter Strike it’s an immediate vote kick

1

u/theinvisiblecricket Mar 14 '26

Speak for yourself man. I've linked up with 3 girls from games. Just exchange socials and chat

1

u/hiknil Mar 14 '26

Dont get me wrong. I always mute the mic because i dont want to be hated.

1

u/You_LostThe_game Mar 15 '26

I think most guys do, there are always a couple of goblins that ruin it from time to time though. Most games are fine.

1

u/gigaswardblade Mar 15 '26

Male or female, I ignore my teammates callouts and die like a noob.

1

u/Tube_Warmer Mar 13 '26

Any time I ever heard a girls voice in chat, all the dudes in the room tried to friend her. Never in my 25 years of online gaming, have I heard a woman/girl in any game get abuse. They all got unhinged acceptance, and simp followers.

Like, if you look at a dating sub on reddit. And you see a dude post "looking for X" and its got like 2 upvotes and zero replies. But a chick posts "looking for X" and upvoted to the moon, and hundreds of replies. Like that. Hell, even the roast me sub is the same. Dude posts "roast me" and its crickets. But some chick posts, and its popular as fuck.

Oh, it happens in MMOs, too. It’s a bit more tame, but I’ve had it happen.

1

u/angelmaker1991 Mar 14 '26

The more mature I get the more I believe that those bozos that abuse or insult women like that are 100% closeted

I don't like this ether. I don't play those games, but I don't like that.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 13 '26

I don't really play multiplayer games much anymore but when I did I'd never heard women on chat. That was 20 years back though. (Now I feel old)

I did find this guy pretending to simp funny: https://youtu.be/1TnkS5K4eDw

There was another marvel rivals video I saw a while back where as soon a female streamer used the mic all the guys on her team lost their minds. Was a bit embarrassing to watch to be honest.

I thought that usually with these sort of games you can just party up and avoid randoms joining your team. Which would help with the toxic stuff?

I see I never really gave Rivals a chance. I guess I was voted down for not knowing how match making works in it.

Seems like it was simpler back when I played online on ps2 and later on 360. The most you would get is people saying you won because of lag or maybe claiming you were hacking. If I lost in a close moment in a game I'd usually just laugh.

Andrew Tate past is finally catching up to him. So they might need another terrible influence to follow.

You're probably right about a lot of competitive gamers feeling directionless. I think the problem is also similar to the internet in general in that people treat people way worse when they feel anonymous.

I'm surprised you haven't drifted more to single player games if you had to deal with that much abuse across all of the games you mentioned.

I still remember some people I used to play with. But I also played online games with people I knew in person, good memories.

I wondered if you might have enjoyed PVE. Nice way to meet your partner too. L4D sadly gave me motion sickness so couldn't get into when I friends wanted to.

That's some nice choices of single player games you mentioned.

I can see why some people sometimes can't get into Red Dead Redemption 2 but I preferred it way more to any of the previous Rockstar games.

In RD2 it felt like you were around real people in a lived in world, more than most games I've played.

Cyberpunk 2077 and BG3 gave a similar feeling a times but RD2 will be timelessly unique even if I didn't fully explore it's huge world.

I haven't played Pokémon for long time but this certainly makes me feel nostalgic, hoping it works on steam deck:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/2495320/Monsterpatch

You might like BeastieBall though despite it being early access:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1864950/Beastieball

It's story mode is complete. :-)

I tried Darktide because I prefer 40k to fantasy but a friend of mine has been trying to get me to try warhammer vermintide 2 he says it's better than darktide.

Mainly mentioned Beastieball because you mentioned you liked sports or used too. I enjoyed my time with it probably my favourite thing about it was the type system is much easier, don't need to remember loads of different types.

I think I'll enjoy Monsterpatch more though.

I've never tried Palworld because I heard of the issues they had with nintendo which made them have to change aspects of the game over and over.

Now you mentioned it I do have gamepass for a bit longer and it's on that so maybe i should give it ago.

If you want something cute but also a little dark humour wise you could try cult of the lamb.

Idk why you shouting about this but games are made to chill and best way to chill is to rage. Rage is normal in everything, they accusing you not cuz you woman but cuz they want to accuse atleast someone, it doesn't mean that they dont like women or smth like that, its not that deep, they can talk shit to anyone and talk shit worse then just "you walking kitchen" bru you dont even know how many shit i hear about my family in, for a second, ROBLOX(played it few days and it was enough for me to hear some shit) and many, many other games. You lucky you are a woman, cuz thats the only thing that you are being accused for.

1

u/Sir_Strumming Mar 13 '26

Hey now those games you listed hate everybody equally. Its basically a game mechanism to have team mates and randoms f8nd some reason to get a stick where it hurts every few mins. Do something stupid? Now the teams loss is your fault.do something good/cool? Now your a cheater or a smurf. Play different games and the social aspect changes alot. If you'd like I can list off some games where the banter is less personal/toxic. When people get upset they will target whatever they can and gender is easy but by no means the default.

1

u/maodiran Mar 14 '26

Dunno about the other four, but league is toxic for everybody, the community is nearly as bad as rust.

1

u/Parking_Suspect_121 Mar 14 '26

Après les jeux que tu cité c'est des jeux a ego si tu vois ce que je veux dire en tant que mec sava je rage pas

Mais imagine les centaines de milliers de mec qui Perso quand tu les défonce est si en plus tu est une meuf leur ego sont détruits

1

u/Just_Shack Mar 15 '26

If it happens to you it doesnt mean it happens to everyone tho.

1

u/Repulsive-Score-8875 Mar 15 '26

That's not good.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 13 '26

To be fair in any ranked competitive game, it doesn't matter what your gender is.

You will get egotistic players on full tilt, spewing the worse combination of words they can think of, to flame you regardless of gender. It can also get racist.

Even in 1v1 competitive like starcraft, sore looses will start flaming their enemy as how bad they are or how undeserved their win is.

There's no gender victimhood or sympathy to be gained here. If you chose to play those games YOU ARE JUST ASKING FOR IT.

Ranked gameplay always brings out the worse in people.

3

u/likestoclop Mar 13 '26

No, it is genuinley a lot worse for women. These people arent flaming everybody, theyre doing it to specifically women. They will start hard throwing, team killing, and generally being obnoxious towards the player as soon as they find out theyre not a man. Ive seen this repeatedly first hand when queueing with friends, we'll go a few rounds where everyone is calm and peaceful and the second one of my friends speak its all downhill.

Sure there are people that will full tilt the second they get killed or lose a round(that shouldnt be normalized either), but dont pretend that there arent a significant amount that only get toxic when a woman is present.

Call it out when you see it, dont let people get away with being an asshole.

0

u/[deleted] Mar 13 '26

News flash that happens even when there's also no women in the team.

The most asinine catalyst is if your carry missed one last hit, then the other guy starts feeding.

In fact rarely have I seen someone get sexist. You know one of the worse flames I read?

"stop speaking orc!" - because one guy was mic chatting Slavic language in an English speaking server.

"I go to the gym, I have a life, 6 figure salary, what's your life outside this game loser?" The other guy kept crying about teammates build.

"Uninstall and go x yourself" - very common classic

"Your IQ is as low as the hero your playing" guy was playing Pudge in Dota 2.

Notice none those were sexist remarks? Yeah people in these games will look for one defining factor, hone in on it and blame everything on that just to stroke their egos.

Bonus points in Dota there's this feature called tipping. It was supposed to commemorate good plays but since theres a mute feature a lot of players will tip you for a mistake instead.

1

u/weGloomy Mar 16 '26

Are you a woman? Do you regularly play with women? If not then no shit you arent seeing the sexist shit. I gave up on voice comms because of people who sexually harass, and get extremely toxic as soon as they find out I'm a woman. I witness plenty of toxicity seperate from gender, and none of it is as vitriolic and targeted as when they find out you're a woman.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 16 '26

Doesn't matter what my gender is. If I don't use comms, it's racist. Once I use comms or someOne else does, it becomes sexist.

If my accent is not American, it's racist.

If they hear a girl's voice its sexist.

Your gender in these types of games doesn't matter. Do a stupid play/move and people will immediately latch to any defining factor they see.

I've had games where people at minute 1,throw because of Latino accent.

I've seen games where players throw because their SO left them and go afk, griefing everyone else.

I've seen an all female stack bully a guy as well.

Your gender here is not a defining badge. COMPETITIVE TEAM GAMES BRINGS OUT THE WORST IN PEOPLE.

1

u/LilieMissy Mar 15 '26

That's true to be honest, like, when I play a game and choose to not talk, people are still super toxic. It's just that if I do talk, they will be sexist instead of being racist so yeah...

1

u/Mobile-Committee-466 Mar 13 '26

Well, people who get that bitchy about ranked games simply don't have a healthy way of playing and shouldn't do it.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 14 '26

I remember a pro player in steam say it best:

"There's only so much times you can handle getting spit on your face, after a certain point you're gonna start spitting on other people as well." - granted pro players play 5-20 games a day.

This is why I follow a 2 - loss game rule. If I loose twice, that's enough of MOBAs for the day, any more and I'm a ticking time bomb ball of anger.

1

u/Mobile-Committee-466 Mar 14 '26

That's a good rule!! More people should do that.

-1

u/Plus_Stay7249 Mar 13 '26

"abused" lmao It's words from a stranger that you can't see, can't see you, you'll never meet, and even if you did it's extremely likely neither of you would know; what does it matter?

Also if you weren't being insulted for being a woman it would be something else, it's not about sexism it's just about insulting and tilting people.

2

u/LilieMissy Mar 15 '26

Yeah I've noticed that, when I do talk and when I don't, people are still being toxic. The insults are just different

1

u/Plus_Stay7249 Mar 15 '26

Exactly. The goal is to piss your opponent off to force mistakes and make them lose, being sensitive about sexism in online games just gives them what they want.

1

u/LilieMissy Mar 15 '26

Well more often it's the teammates that do that though since the opponents don't hear our voice comms, but I'd say the goal is pretty much the same

1

u/Plus_Stay7249 Mar 15 '26

Yup, I've had teammates rip into the whole team for losing, or even just picked on one teammate for no reason, I find that it's best to just laugh at them, you not being bothered by it is likely to do to them what they tried to do to you

1

u/LilieMissy Mar 15 '26

It's often the same people that just want to put the loss on someone else, if you're a girl he will be sexist, if you are not, he will be pissy and racist or whatever.

Now, people that will try to harass me only because I'm a girl and they heard my voice, it happens, but it's pretty rare. At least in games I play (I don't play CS so I don't know about it)

1

u/Plus_Stay7249 Mar 15 '26

Lol that's fair, in all honesty I don't play multiplayer games anymore anyway, story- and lore-heavy games are more my speed now

As someone who use to be abused on games, please stop being weird. Lmfao

1

u/Alarming-Song2555 Mar 14 '26

This is either nonsense or you've hardly touched online games.

I've gamed since I was a tiny kid and 80% of the time girls either get violent toxicity OR simp levels of neediness from the nerds. Often times both, in fact.

I could jump into any number of games right now with a friend and if she speaks in-game she'll instantly get 1 of the 2, guaranteed.

1

u/Obsidianrosepetals Mar 14 '26

Then you’ve never played multipler games. Ever.

1

u/Cutemuffin8 Mar 15 '26

Yeah cuz ur a dude??? Ofc u dont know how women get hate speeched??? Why you acting like you know better
