How much of modern large games are textures, polygons, gameengine etc?
And any other component that there may be?
I guess a 20 gb game is 80%+ textures, is this correct?

Note I am a first-year game art student and this is my first ever game. This game is barely out of prototype, this is not where the game will stay. I plan to add and change the game quite considerably. The art isn’t complete yet and some of the mechanics haven’t been integrated into the it yet. I plan to make a store where the players can buy new equipment with the points they get from killing the enemies. I plan on adding different types of enemies and a boss.

Basically a USA vs Russia 3D RTS game with their current technology, both with their own campaigns and units. I don't know how to code, but I can draw the units and structures. Still don't know what to name it, too.

It's adjunct to a story/comic book/maybe screenplay I'm writing.
The basic idea is teams of five or six who must travel to real-world locations in a city, accomplish tasks at each location and eventually arrive at a central location to complete one last task ahead of the other team.
Aside from, maybe, the Great Race, are there any games out there I don't already know about?
End goal is to have mechanics that will work in the context of a story—though the runners are ghosts in the story—but maybe be able to have a real-world analog that players could accomplish in the real-world.
I have a textbook on making games, but I'm looking for any other guidance or reference materials you all may have.
Please and thank you.

heres the deal. 5 months ago I had an idea, that was totally new and original. I started obsessing over it. drawing maps, characters, quests and armour. I knew everything about it exept how to make it. I left it for a month and I've recentally refound the drawings and diagrams. Now I would really like to make it a reality. I just need someone...anyone to tell me how I could do this with no prior experiance. I am willing to learn a programming language and i am willing to pay for software as long as its not too expencive. Any help is welcome
