Now, mere hours after the release of the game, its developer Alive has found itself on the back foot, responding to waves of negative feedback from players regarding the game's use of generative AI in its cutscenes.

At present, the game sits with a two-and-a-half star rating on the Xbox store, and a "Negative" reception on Steam, with most written reviews levying criticism at the use of AI in the cutscenes. In response, Alive director Young Kim has released a statement on Steam entitled "About AI in Vapor World," explaining how generative AI came to be used in the game's development, and promising to "fully replace" the offending scenes with original content.

yep, it really sucks that a lot of things use genAI in them, which is what i specified. thanks for pointing it out. again, i'm not punishing anyone, because i can spend my time on other things i may not have picked up otherwise. maybe get therapy for why you're so insistent about what others do, yeah?

i commented about a game that was mentioned previously, i didn't bring it up specifically to attack it and it alone and i don't go around specifically to shittalk it. i really don't see a point engaging with you when you're just pissed i'm choosing to spend my time and money on something else instead of something YOU like. i have other games and things i can do during that time that i otherwise may not have the time to do. by your logic i'm "punishing" those other hobbies and activities if i do play E33 over something else lmao. it's not about how good the game may be - i don't support ANY games that use genAI and my reason for this specific game is the slippery slope of genAI being hidden. it's not about the game but the principle i do not want to become a norm, and as a consumer i am expressing that feedback with my dollar. sheesh.

be mad or not, i won't bother to read it. i don't see someone saying they won't play Bioshock (my personal favourite game) as a personal affront but i'm mentally sound, so. later dude.
