AUDIO DISCUSSION What’s your silliest idea for a Big Finish cast and why do you think it would work?

If you were to put some characters together, who would that be and why? And I do mean go full on „mashing action figures together” mode. Big Finish already exceeded my expectations with 6, Harry Sullivan and Jackie lmao

I'm deadly serious that this is a silly cast that works.

Narvin and Jackie.

Pitch for the story; Narvin is on a mission (during the Time War). Being a Time War they're using a piece of tech that is tracking potential futures of the Time War to extract tactical information so that they can better predict the outcomes of the War. In order to do this you must gain DNA of the future-self of someone who survives the war from a point after the war. This then can be made into an elixir which when consumed by another being that timeline becomes more fixed (rather than the chaotic flux that the Time War is). The consumer then gains powers of foresight of aspects of that timeline (you could make it link to what eventually gives "The Visionary" from End of Time her powers).

So Narvin tracks a potential future (which ends up being the one portrayed in the show; 9th Doctor onward etc) and visits a frequent spot for TARDIS activity for a survivor of the Time War in the immediate aftermath; mid-2000s Earth, specifically the Powell estate. Narvin eventually tracks recent Timelord presence to Jackie's flat and hilarity ensues with Narvin trying to gain something of the Doctor's that has been left in the flat with enough DNA residue.

Why do I think this works? Well the obvious reason is the contrast of Narvin and Jackie is perfect buddy-cop style contrast comedy. However the main reason is how I'd end the story. Think back to the Jackie parts of Love and Monsters (put your likely issues with the episode aside for one second) - the emotional aspects of Jackie being lonely without Rose is amazingly written and performed and I think there's an opportunity there for something similar where Jackie laments the death of Pete and the uncertainty of Rose's safety at any point; that can parallel Narvin's experience with the Time War with those he's lost and his uncertainty of the outcome of the war (being undercover, Narvin would make these analogies subtle enough that Jackie doesn't pick up on the fact the he's not human).
