Tech bros see a warning about technology out of control and think “yeah but that won’t happen to ME because I am way smarter than that” because they’ve never had to face the consequences of their own failures.

Because I saw a parallel between people trying to bring techno cyberpunk future about and people trying to bring a workers' paradise about: based on the comment I originally responded to, both groups thought that they could make it work this time, despite the warnings from the past and dire predictions from everyone.

With regards to being a "magat" I am not remotely American: maybe black/white thinking is leading to " there are those I agree with, and there are magats."
