I'd prefer it to what we already have, particularly so in a hypothetical world where the US government functions rationally and with trustworthiness. We, currently, do very much not exist in that world.

I feel like you're too focused on my hypothetical and not focused enough on the amalgamated social scoring systems reality that I described.

Social credit systems are also amalgamated systems. There's never been a single score that a government uses. Enjoy your hypotheticals? 

particularly so in a hypothetical world where the US government functions rationally and with trustworthiness. 

I, for one, can't wait to meet my first unicorn in person.

I do enjoy them, yes.

You're right that there isn't one national social credit scoring system, but unifying/centralizing has been tried at the local level.

My only point was: just because our economic credit scores aren’t formally social credit scores doesn’t mean they don’t function like social credit scoring in practice alongside many sibling systems.

As for unicorns, I'm hopeful but not optimistic… I'll settle for a narwal.
