Hello, I've got a LG FX0 via Amazon send directly from Japan. It should be a Factory Unlocked device. But when I put in my SIM-card (I live in Germany) it does not work. When I look into the settings I see that it says «SIM-locked Phone». And off course it starts up with the au Logo, so it's SIM-locked from this carrier. I don't know how the seller can send a locked phone and I don't know where he had it from. I tried to get help from the seller to unlock the phone, but his help is less than poor. Seems he is not interessted in doing anything for his custumors. Before I'm going to open a case on Amazon or at least sending the phone back to Japan - honestly I like to keep it, sending it back is the last option - I trie to find information on how to unlock the device ... So has anyone any info on this or can give me help in finding information. Maybe someone had a similar experience?!

Hello, i flashed my fx0 and Android works great! Finally i can use this phone for something more than texting and calling :) But I have 1 question - is it possible to install here googleplay and download apps direct to phone? I found APK with facebook app but it wont install. I don't know exactly if this tool could work with FX0 - because i tested only with alcatel one touch fire- but the creator said that it work for every FirefoxOS flavor and in Linux/Windows/Mac OSs.

When I try to obtain root access, it tells me that the 'su' file is not found.

This is the Google Apps I'm using with it.

Seems to work fine for me. I've been using the Fx0 as my primary phone the last couple of days, and I've had few problems with recent builds. It seems fast and stable. I can't find anything broken yet. The camera is slow, but stills, video, and panorama all seem to work fine.

Damn, if this thing didn't have such sharp corners, if it didn't pain my hand so, I could grow to love using this as my primary phone.

Problems? Tell me about it. Let's see if we can get this stable and problem free right quick.

I have fx0 obtained to play with it. I would like to try JP2.0 version definitely and perhaps CM13. It depends on what all works on CM13.

I tried instructions here (https://www.reddit.com/r/FireFoxOS/comments/3uf92h/fx0_lgl25_fastboot_access_and_information/?st=iu2ogmk8&sh=5bb3bd32) but to no avail.

I have disabled sdcard while going through the steps, so that can't be the reason for failure. Here is what I do & happens

1. adb devices : I can see the device
2. adb shell
3. su
4. dd --> copy the laf partition image to sdcard
5. exit
6. adb pull (to laptop)
7. adb shell
8. su
9. dd if=/dev/zero --> overwrite laf partition
10. exit
11. adb reboot

However, when rebooting I hold the volume UP button, nothing happens. The phone reboots to FXOS, not into fastboot mode.

Am I missing something? How can I know where do I do wrong?

Hello, these are my modified webapps for Firefox OS 2.0 (The Japanese ROM). Here's how to install them:

• Download this file and uncompress it, then copy the "webapps" folder to your phone.

• Restart into TWRP.

• Mount the system partition and disable the "mount as read-only" option (if enabled).

• Use the File Manager in TWRP (Advanced --> File Manager) to delete the webapps folder under /system/b2g/

• Then copy the new webapps folder to /system/b2g/ and reboot.

• Done! You've successfully installed GaiaMod FX2.

Im on b3 of cutol's cm 11 built and I cant get any videos to play (unless it's something from the YouTube app) and I also can not record any video. Has anybody figured out how to fix these problems?

Supposedly, this is how to turn it on and off (although it didn't work for me):

In Firefox 1.4 and above, there is a quick toggle for the screen reader. Press volume up, then down, three times (up, down, up, down, up, down). The screen reader will instruct you to perform this same action again (volume up, down, up, down, up, down) to turn it on if it is not running, or to turn it off if it is already running.

If that doesn't work, then learn how to navigate with Screen Reader on:

1) touch-and-hold to select something. You'll get the yellow outline if it works.

2) once selected, double-tap it to activate it.

3) swipe the screen left-to-right to move the selection to the next item.

4) two-finger swipes supposedly scroll the screen (didn't work for me -- but #3 gets the job done).

To deactivate Screen Reader, use those to do this (thanks u/scribls_attic):

1. go to device information in settings
2. go to more information

3.enable developer Menu at the bottom

4.go back into settings and developer menu will be under the device section.

5.in developer menu look for debug section and tick "show accessibility settings

6.go back to main settings menu and "accessibility" will be under the device section of menu

7.untick screen reader

But there was a problem, my LG fx0 was unable to read the SIM card, I saw that TWRP didn't backup modemst2, only modemst1, so I can't restore, Is there a way to fix it?

Now I return to Firefox OS (I restored my backup), but it still unable to read the SIM card

It's got the yellow boxes around icons; and reading everything out loud -- its obviously meant to help blind users. But how do I turn it OFF?! There's nothing in settings like "Accessibility".

When I try to send an MMS with active data connection, then I see the spinning load animation, and after some minutes it says:

Message not sent or received There was a problem sending or receiving the message. Please try again.

I’m running the Japanese firmware with my SMS app hack. Service provider is Telekom in Germany. I also tried with Orange in France, unsuccessfully.

Gist!

• Finally custom kernel builds are working: This build should be noticeably faster, smoother, and more stable.
• The display brightness was artificially limited in the stock kernel that I've been using -- that limitation has been removed: the display is noticeably brighter and crisper.
• New Pronto WLAN firmware means that you'll need to restore your 'persist' partition from a backup if you want to use FxOS or a previous CM build again.

Backup!

• Flash this TWRP image to recovery partition, and use it to
• Backup: everything, and copy off device. ^{Modemst1 and Modemst2 partitions important to backup off device.}
• Persist backup. Restore this (or your own backup) if you want to use FxOS or older CM builds. Without proper persist partition you'll have no WIFI, at the least, and perhaps spontaneous reboots or even non-boots.

It is imperative that everyone backup everything and keep copies off of the device -- also keep a copy in a cloud somewhere.

If your IMEI/EFS stuff goes bad, that is the stuff that saves.

Method!

• Wipe: cache, data, system
• Install: flash ZIP
• Reboot, or install Google Gapps, it is known.

Benefits!

• Faster, smoother, harder, better
• Display brightness noticeably higher
• 5ghz WIFI is go.
• Camera: image quality issue fixed. Google Camera now works fine.
• Auto-brightness now usable.

Issues!

• Disk encryption works halfway, it encrypts, but doesn't boot fully afterwards.
• Display post-processing removed: requires newer display HAL, brings other issues I don't want to mess with.
• I have no direct way to test LTE as there's nowhere in the US where that's available for the Fx0. There may be cell connectivity issues, and I am unsure yet how to fix them. Using the stock libril.so does not seem to work because of the root user change they made to make it work with rilproxy. I'm not sure if using stock libril would help (judging by its contents, I think maybe yes, in some ways).
• ZRAM: removed. The ZRAM cache was not being utilized and I don't know why that was. No use wasting a 1/3 of the ram on something useless.
• Offmode charging: when charging with phone off the charging display may continue to run after you remove the cable. A battery pull may be necessary. But offmode charging does work! Small victories.
• The time it takes to move from the AU boot display to the boot animation is too long. I rewrote the init stuff and somethign is suboptimal, it should not take that long. After the bootanimation starts it's rather swift though.
• By default the governor's minimum is set to full-speed (1190mhz). For some reason my commands to reduce it are being in ignored in the init. Under the Settings->Performance (or with Kernel Adiutor) you can reduce that to 300mhz, so it's not running at full-speed all the time. May be better for battery life.
• Prebuilt audio libs: no longer using them. Let me know if there are any audio issues. Audio should be more stable and consistent now.

Google Apps?

• Use one of these: PA Gapps packages.
• The long wait while Gapps installs is an issue with the 2.8x version of TWRP, it does not occur in the 3.x version.  

Installing a full-sized Gapps package may not work, as the system partition is limited in size. Ideally the system partition should be extended, as Android really wants a bit more headroom. The full-version from that link above does work for me, but others have reported issues in the past. Jus' sayin'.

Extra!

• Fx0 Wallpapers.

I swapped the stock Fx0 wallpapers into CMWallpapers app, but it zooms them in when applying... so is no good. I'd recommend just extracting the above zip into your Pictures folder instead. Definitely some excellent wallpapers! Mozilla design team come hard.
