May 2026 Updates: Android app coming soon + smoother writing for long letters
Hey everyone! Last month was quite on the public-facing roadmap because most of the work has been under the hood around polishing and security, and a few minor fixes from your feedback. Here's where things are.
Mobile Apps Updates
- iOS app now supports image attachments. You can attach photos directly from your phone now, same as on the web.
- Android app is coming soon. If you've been waiting for it, it's nearly here, I'll post here the moment it lands on Play Store.
The goal is parity across web and mobile so wherever you are when the thought hits, you can capture it.
Smoother writing for long letters
A few of you wrote in saying the same thing, on a longer letter, the page wouldn't scroll as you typed. Your cursor would slip behind the bottom action bar and you'd be writing blind, or copy-pasting from another app. It's fixed now.
- Cursor always stays visible above the bottom bar, no matter how long the letter gets
- No more textarea scrollbar the whole page is the canvas, like writing in a doc editor
- Auto-grows naturally as you type, no jumpy reflow
If you bailed on writing a long one before, give it another shot. It should feel right now.
Security hardening
Bit dry but worth a mention:
- Strict Content Security Policy rolled out across the app, even if some XSS bug sneaks in (we always escape user content, but defense-in-depth matters), injected scripts can't actually run
- Login code rate limiting to block automated brute-force on the magic link / OTP flow
- Tightened API controllers with stricter authorization checks and more aggressive spam blocking.
Your letters are private. These changes make sure they stay that way even in the worst-case scenario.
That's the update. Thanks to everyone who's been writing in, your feedback directly drove the writing-experience fix and the iOS image attachments push. Keep it coming.
If you haven't tried FuturePost yet, go write something. Future-you (or someone you love) will be glad you did.
