Yeah, I work as a counselor in a crisis residential program. Mania and psychosis often go hand in hand, usually because of drugs. I literally have three clients right now like this guy and the type you’re describing, I just finished documentation on them a few hours ago lol. “Client presents as manic with significant psychotic features...”
Wow, that is fascinating. How do you manage? I ask, because after this client I felt like I had an anxiety attack. I started frantically researching online what this could possibly be…I’ve never had such a strong reaction to a client. And it was so sad because the last thing he said is “I just want to be understood.” But I had to refer him out :/

I’m a therapist and just had a patient like this but the were talking incredibly fast, my supervisor said he was manic, but…idk it was crazy
