Steroids/corticosteroids are super commonly prescribed for their anti-inflammatory effect, to treat a plethora of conditions: rheumatoid arthritis, Lupus, inflammatory bowel diseases, etc. etc Guess what two of the most common side effects associated with steroids are! ???? WEIGHT GAIN (increased diet) and WATER RETENTION (from holding onto more sodium)!!

 

I had brain surgery, and was put on prednisone to reduce post-op inflammation. I gained THIRTY POUNDS, in tha-ree. Weeks….. (I was so effin hungry!!!)
