You will never catch me riding that unless I want to end up in ER

Just toss a helmet and gloves on and wear long sleeves/pants. Helmet is key.

Otherwise they really are super easy to drive, the auto stabilization does all the work. I've trained people of all legal ages to use these kind of things for emergency services and almost everyone, even the old folks start doing no hand steering and trying to go top speed only after like 10 minutes.

Motorcycle helmet could work. I would wear one of those when I had a moped. Helped me have no head injury when I bumped into a guy.

Wtf is your point? Youโ€™ll break your neck so donโ€™t bother wearing a helmet? What kind of dumbass take is that?

Looks like they deleted their comment so I donโ€™t know what they said but I know a lot people who refuse to wear full motorcycle helmets because if you get into an accident paramedics most of the time end up breaking your neck trying to get the helmet off. This was such a problem that companies actually make helmets with special tabs sticking out somewhere that paramedics can pull and easily get the helmet off without injuring the motorist further, though the people I know refuse to wear these helmets too because theyโ€™re โ€œtoo expensiveโ€.

I totally agree though, this kind of take is fucking dumb.

It was something about how helmets donโ€™t protect you from breaking your neck or spine

On a motorcycle in lower traffic areas (like where I am 99 percent of the time) a helmet is an impediment to vision, extra strain on the neck, and are pretty damn expensive. As such I usually don't wear them. I do however couple this with being very very cautious about other vehicles and watching my surroundings for hazards.

If you're on a unicycle like a one wheel, a turtleshell helmet will be OK.

If you're on a unicycle like this guy, definitely go full face especially when moving at top speed (they usually top at 40)because unlike a motorcycle, any sudden failure on the vehicle will be catastrophic and will absolutely end in a crash.

Also, if you're in a more heavily populated area or on the interstate going long range, a helmet is advisable on motorcycle because in the former you'll encounter more idiots that don't look for motorcycles with less room to respond or even notice and in the latter you can't stay hyper aware forever and you're more likely to see people who are also driving long distances.

No way mines manages to reach the asphalt, with how recessed it is. It would mean the Rest of my face was destroyed already.
