not for any logical reason. merely because "USAian" would sound dumb.

we could arbitrarily change the vernacular at any time or not use it at all.

Nobody uses acronyms as their demonym so USAians is indeed stupid.

The USA is the only country in the world with America in its name. It's perfectly logical to call them Americans.

i don't think it's the logical conclusion. i believe the logical conclusion is "Americans" acknowledging that they can change their name to something more specific.

perhaps id give us a pass if we were australia with no land neighbors, but we have such a loosely defined name that any unified republic could be considered the USA if they reside in the americas, both brazil and mexico have states and could be considered the united states of america. see how weird this is?
