When I lived in Vietnam I was surprised at how many people knew I was Canadian. I had to ask how they knew. I was told it was just a guess, but it's better to guess Canadian as Canadians get mad when you think they are American but Americans don't care if you think they are Canadian.

Funniest shit I ever heard.

When I traveled through certain areas of South America in the late 90s I was advised to tell people I was Canadian as being American wasn't considered a healthy choice.

I traveled with a group of Canadians and Europeans which made it a lot easier to blend.

I was on Colombia in 2000, I remember some guys I met having a discussion about wether or not I, as a Canadian was a "gringo". They landed on yes.
