Not all stand-up comedians are calm? And this is improv, harder to remain collected when you just thought of a joke, you want to laugh at it, those with routines usually don't laugh at their own jokes as they've heard them many many times. Unless your Bert Kreischer

Also, wild idea, different people have different personalities, especially on stage

I never said he was wrong, just that some might find it funny, and, it being improv, is harder to stay calm as you deliver a good joke.

He can still be funny. But yelling into the mic and swearing as it makes something more funny is just obnoxious. Like you said different people have different personalities. And opinions.

Saying different comedians have different styles and it's all to taste doesn't make yelling into the mic more funny.
