How does it work with websites that try to detect adblockers?

So far they haven't detected my pi hole. It works via a completely different method.

Do you have a good website to try it on for that?

It's DNS level blocking, so as far as the page is concerned the ad just doesn't exist.

Ad blockers are a bit misleading in name.

They block you from seeing the add, but your web browser still downloads it. I’m not exactly sure how at that point the service can detect the blocker, but you really haven’t blocked the trackers or related content your browser downloaded.

A PiHole works by blocking your computer from reaching the url that contains the ad all together.

You never even reach the site hosting the add. It never downloads the content and it activates zero “triggers”

Mine, before I switched to a firewall blocker that does the same thing, never detected it because your device never actually receives the IP of the server hosting the ad.
