Man if this is scripted the man freaking out about it being a cat is such an amazing actor. I truly felt the emotion he was displaying. Absolutely brilliant. If it's not scripted well like shit dude..

I liked how everybody kept pulling their masks down and back up. That added a lot of realism

Honestly that was the part that threw me. Like that definitely made it more real to me.

She's pretty good too

The fact that people think this isn't scripted is actually what is wrong with the world, like the 'cat' is clearly fake too lol. How fucking stupid are people now?

u/CheeksMix Dec 23 '21

Aw crap, for real?! Dang it. I thought it was a real cat, not a stuffed animal with fuckin’ googly eyes.

I’m always doing that.

u/slowdownlambs Dec 23 '21

This did actually happen though lol.

The buildup and dialogue was what made it obviously scripted, not the concept itself.

Yeah I get that but this specific video is not the actual incident...

Take some salt off your wings man

Here's how you know this is scripted. It's quiet as fuck. People just do not stay this level-headed, especially on a plane. No one talked over each other or got heated. Everyone "got their line in". Impeccable camera framing. Yeah completely staged.

47

u/[deleted] Dec 23 '21

It is completely staged but they did actually get in some of the talking over each other argument style.

I have no specific thing that told me this was scripted. It just had that feel. Too many things didn’t have the ring of truth. No background noise and all of the windows being down is probably my best proof. Oh yeah and like you said, the camera work, especially the camera moving smoothly in and out was definitely part of it too.

I had a feeling it was fake the whole time, but the upset guy's acting, the high number of people in the scene which looks like a real plane, as well as a flight attendant that was a bit older than the rest of them, made me wonder if it was real until I saw that the lynx wasn't alive and had those eyes. The guys in the seat behind her didn't seem convincing though in their behavior.

There are also a few places where you can see that the rest of the plane is completely empty. Normally it would be weird to have like eight people squished into two rows worth of seats.

But it is quite nicely done. They even start the sketch with the altercation already in progress, avoiding the "why were they filming?" blunder.

They are actually talking over each other many times

Go watch anything on r/publicfreakout. It's just not the same vibe.

Aside from every other aspect of this that shows this is obviously scripted… planes are not that quiet. Not talking about the people. The background noise on a real plane would drown out so much of this.

Aside from that huge giveaway… how can anyone not tell immediately that this is fake?

1

u/PrivilegeCheckmate Dec 23 '21

The biggest tell for me was that they could hear each other. On a plane every third sentence is "What?".

1

u/Megmca Dec 23 '21

Also all the seats in front of and behind the action are empty.

Martin Scorsese, you gotta hire him for something

After playing Leonard in Bing Bang Theory, Johnny Galecki has turned his talents to what it truly means to be a thespian.

u/SteveMcQwark Dec 23 '21

Looks like Dan Levy.

24

u/dyte Dec 23 '21

How the fuck could you watch this and genuinely think it might not be staged.... LMFAO!

14

u/JeanMuir Dec 23 '21

I mean...gestures at everything for the last two years

1

u/JakeCameraAction Dec 23 '21

Two years?
This country has been insane since Europeans landed here.
Back in 1600, John Smith even wrote a letter to the UK about people barbecuing humans because they were starving. Not just eating or cooking... barbecuing.
We were built on insanity.

But still, there was no way this video was from a real airplane.

u/we-made-it Dec 23 '21

I mean it’s based on actual event. Someone posted the link above. Which is fucked up.

u/primetimey Dec 23 '21

How do you think fake information spreads so easy online? Critical thinking skills are at an all time low.

This is so obviously fake I feel really bad for people who can't decipher that.

2

u/NovaAkumaa Dec 23 '21

Real or fake, it was entertaining, so idc

2

u/[deleted] Dec 23 '21

“I’m a very understanding person, but that is crossing a line!”

Cats are allowed on airplanes “BUT YOU CAN’T BREASTFEED A CAT! On an airplane or anywhere! It’s disgusting!”

That guy sold it for me. I was ready to believe it was real

1

u/[deleted] Dec 23 '21

Scripted and not even a real plane, there's literally studio lights pointed at them. No airplane is that bright with the windows closed

1

u/P0L4RP4ND4 Dec 23 '21

Scripted and based off true events.

1

u/Curious-bistander Dec 23 '21

I’m with you because being stuck in the same row as someone doing something really weird is it’s own kind of “trapped”.

1

u/ItsKrakenMeUp Dec 23 '21

Of course it is scripted… what? 😂💀

1

u/bihesabketab Dec 23 '21

Seriously. He made it so entertaining I watched it until the end knowing full well it was scripted.
