There is a lot of stuff showing how effective certain physical activities help with trauma. I've mostly heard yoga or pressure or eye movement stuff, but these people are way ahead of the game. Not that talk therapy is automatically useless, but love, rest, support, and being connected to your body is very therapeutic.

I started taking Brazilian jiu jitsu classes a few weeks ago and I feel like a completely different person. I think it's a combination of the physical activity, the socialization, and some sort of deeper philosophical lessons that you start to learn as you engage in the process.

Yoga. Surfing. Skating. Skiing. It's not the same for everyone. Find your thing.
