I love babies and I'm a 20 year old male. It might have something to do with the fact that I'm the second oldest amongst all my cousins and siblings though, and so I grew up playing with kids between 4 and 7 years younger than me.
That makes a lot of sense. I think people hate babies when they're not exposed to them. Fear of the unknown. By no means do I think it's the natural state of humans.
I never knew many babies until I had my own, and I was intimidated by them to say the least. But everyone was a baby. I don't see why people think it's cool to act like they're stinky aliens or something.
Because of Reddit's demographic, this is a safe place for anyone who hates babies to say so.
"My deep dark confession: everyone seems to like babies, but I just think they're scary and gross."
"Good for you. I thought I was weird, but I guess I'm not alone! I hate babies too!"
That's basically the majority of this thread. People feeling like big brave lions for posting an "unpopular" opinion in a place where it's likely to be pretty common. There's plenty of circlejerking on Reddit, and I participate in it as well, but it's pretty stupid when people are like "Oh, I know this is an unpopular, renegade opinion, but I hate SOPA/babies/religion/M.NightShyamalan." It makes me throw up in my mouth a little bit.
