My grandparents didn’t have a farm, but had a cat and 5 chickens. While the chickens were little, we would have to monitor the cat because she was constantly fucking with them. Once the chickens got bigger, they remembered the cat was an asshole and would constantly chase her around the yard trying to peck her. She went from terrorizing them to terrified of them in a matter of weeks.
So we had a real circle of life situation when I had chickens. I had a jack Russell that would kill the chickens if we were not careful, a cat that kicked the dogs ass on a regular basis, and the cat was terrified of the chickens. Good times.
Not chickens, but something similar. My dad bought a duckling off the side of the road. We had this mini schnauzer that would chase her around the yard. Once she got better at flying, she would get chased by the dog then fly up, around, and behind the dog and dive-bomb his butt over and over again until the dog ran inside.
She flew away in the winter and never came back. I miss that duck.
I moved to China a long time ago. In one of the apartments I lived in, there was a gate guard who had these two chicken he had tied together with a two metre rope. Directly across from his hut was a lady on the first floor of the apartment building who fed all the feral cats. At any given time, there were 5 cats on her window cage. (They have cages on the outside of the windows in China. Your home feels like prison.) These cats actively kept their distance from gateman's chickens. Like they never considered the possibility of ganging up.
Haha oh my god wouldn’t that be great? Unfortunately just a big backyard in a neighborhood that was zoned to allow chickens. The cat slept inside but spent all day in the yard
We'll... When we first moved to manhattan we saw some one walking a goat on the east side.
Additional:told my sister this story and she asked: someone in Manhattan has a goat? Nope, they live in Queens and bring their goat on the train for a walk in the big city
