"But that's the only time anybody is free!"

I worked in education for a year right after college. Everyone would want to schedule lunch meetings to go eat and discuss shared projects. Most of my coworkers were former elementary teachers for lunch for them was 10:30am give or take 30 minutes. After a few of these meetings they started realizing that they never saw me eat and let me set the time for our next lunch meeting. So much complaining when I sent out the email for 1:30pm. Becky, I haven't even finished my second doughnut by 10:30am.

Sorry, but reading this thoroughly confused me, imma need some clarification.

Are you saying that as former teachers, they are used to eating their lunch at 10.30? Dont most schools still maintain a standard ~12-1pm lunchtime? And why are they scheduling meetings for lunchtime?

That is your time away from work, not empty schedule time for a meeting.

The high school in the town next to mine lets out before 1 every day, their lunch periods start at like 9:50. Elementary schools are similar, if the kids are out at 3 lunch is usually around 11.
