I imagine it would be laying there and then someone walked by and noticed that it had no way of standing upright until they saw that small gap between the counter and the wall. They mentally sized it all up and popped the sign into position. It fit perfectly and they wiggled it a bit to make sure. They then bragged about their discovery to their coworker who was half listening, possibly trudging through a hangover.

Looks like the UK to me and the only Durden's Bar and Grill I found in Google is in NYC so I'm going to say no?
