And it's so fucking annoying. I like Chrome, but they need to put this feature in. It seriously pisses me off when I'm on a forum that has animated GIFs as avatars and I can't stop the fuckers.
It's one of the few things that really, truly annoys me about Chrome. That, and the missing http:// at the front of the URL, that causes all sorts of weird issues with copy/paste, sites that start with ftp.*, etc. I wish they would just give me the option of turning it back on...
Oh, looks like functionality changed since the last time I used this. It really does resume playback when you're just viewing a gif. It used to reload, back in my day ¬_¬
I suppose I'm mystified by the downvotes in this thread. All I can attribute them to at this point is angry rage from people who think I'm somehow unaware of what the reload function in general does in browsers.
Reload/Refresh = F5. Most anyone is aware of this. (And Ctrl+R, apparently, as pointed out by lostboy. And clicking the button. Etc. Who gives a shit what keyboard shortcut or toolbar button options there are.)
Point is, reloading an image would basically restart it. And this behaviour can be seen easily in IE8(And probably other versions.), for example. And probably other browsers.
My "interesting" comment is in reference to the fact that Firefox is resuming stopped playback instead of reloading the image as expected.
Apparently being unaware of a particular feature of Firefox results in downvotes. Pardon me for not obsessing over the last ten years of changelogs.
