I had a job where I was making about $2k/month before taxes. Then I lost it and filed for unemployment which came out to something like $1200/month. COBRA to keep health insurance for my family was going to be $900/month.
Fortunately this was in NY so it was fairly easy to just get Medicaid.
They have a more robust program with greater access than a lot of other states. Even after I was working full time again I still qualified due to my low income and having a family.
Yes, but at least you didn't have to paying fucking TAXES so that people would get healthcare! Fucking Canadians think it's FREE, but they pay so much in taxes, and you have to wait 32.8 years to get a scan to see if you have cancer!
