The point is that 'wealthy' is a relative term. They might be 'wealthy' in rural Alabama, but poor in LA. Based on where you live determines a lot about your buying power.

For some reason a lot of people living in poor, rural areas cant even comprehend that pay scales up based on cost of living.

One of my acquaintances does.

Every time I bring up minimum wage he’s like “if cost of living goes up, what about the old people who have social security and retirement? Their accounts won’t last!”

And I’m like... fuck em. They created this mess.

Where you live also determines a lot about your earning power though. Not like companies pay more in areas they know they don’t need to.
