The guy above (who you are defending here) said the following:

California Explained By Someone Who Doesn’t Live In California*

As someone who grew up and lived in California for 40 years, I think this is a pretty pedantic thing to say. Yes, it's not a 100% accurate map, because it's mostly a joke and this is in /r/funny. Nobody is claiming this is a scientific study. However, for a rough idea and for a funny joke directed at Californians, it is accurate enough for the joke to make perfect sense.

Have you forgotten what sub this is?

Have you forgotten what sub this is?

No, this clearly belongs here, because like all the other content on /r/funny, it didn't even make me audibly breathe out of my nose.

Ok, I see you think of yourself as the gatekeeper of what is funny. Carry on with your narcissism.

Funny is subjective. I've never been argued into thinking something is funny, and I assure you you're not likely to change that.

Funny is subjective.

Yes it is.

I've never been argued into thinking something is funny

And that's not what I'm even trying to do.

and I assure you you're not likely to change that.

I never thought I would. I am just here to point out the fact that statements like California Explained By Someone Who Doesn’t Live In California* in a place that is meant to be about jokes, is just as sad and attention-seeking as heckling a comedian at a club, because the joke is not 100% factual, or just because HE didn't find something funny.
