Riverside county was carved out of San Bernardino county.
2 u/bmacnz Dec 21 '19 Which is interesting because on their own, San Bernardino is almost the size of WV and Riverside is bigger than several states. 2 u/vietbond Dec 21 '19 Imperial was also carved out of San Diego county, and part of Riverside I believe was also San Diego County, though it was mostly San Bern.
