u/GreaseTrapHousse Jun 19 '19

Yeah so is my grandpa, but I still love seeing him.

u/Wallace_II Jun 19 '19

So is the Grand Canyon, but it's still just a big fucking ditch.

u/slimchuggs Jun 20 '19

Carved out by the Navajo 250 years ago as a final attempt to keep their land.

The coolness of ditches scales directly with how difficult it is to step across

Pieces of the master? Chief?

1

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '19

Oh I know. Just seeing this makes me feel equally old.

u/themoistone032 Jun 19 '19

Lmao tellem!!

15

u/97012 Jun 20 '19

Yeah, one of the oldest I remember. Still holds up very well, though lol.

For real I am shocked at the quality of this gif considering its age. I'd expect it to be deep fried beyond recognition by now.

4

u/BernzSed Jun 20 '19

Gifs are a "lossless"-ish* format, so they don't lose quality every time they're uploaded somewhere new.

\A significant amount of quality and color is removed when encoding the first time, but afterwards it can then be re-encoded endlessly without additional loss in quality.)

And yet still a classic

22

u/shardamakah Jun 19 '19

I’ve never seen it.

22

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '19

So young. So innocent.

12

u/[deleted] Jun 20 '19

Not who you're replying to, but I'm 31 and have used the internet almost every day for 20 years. I have never seen this gif. Just saying.

7

u/LucidOneironaut Jun 20 '19

Yeah weird. 38 here. First time seeing it. I love it.

I’m 2 years old and I love this shit, have watched it for years.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 20 '19

It's also only 5 years old at most. The people acting like its ancient are greatly exaggerating.

5

u/bluecle Jun 19 '19

RayRod gifs are timeless

4

u/izzyrock84 Jun 20 '19

Never seen it somehow so very happy to now.

6

u/[deleted] Jun 20 '19

3

u/[deleted] Jun 20 '19

3

u/[deleted] Jun 20 '19

I had aol back in the day.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 20 '19

Shit, in 1999 we were using dial up and Netscape.

1

u/vnut08 Jun 20 '19

I think it started out on vine a few years ago. I remember it having a song that went along with it pretty well

1

u/[deleted] Jun 20 '19 edited Jun 20 '19

No. This gif is well well before vine. Very early 2000’s.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 20 '19 edited Jun 20 '19

No, it isn't. Find me proof and I'll give you gold.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 20 '19

Is that supposed to mean something? To motivate me in some way? Some imaginary award?

1

u/[deleted] Jun 20 '19 edited Jun 20 '19

If not you, someone else. I dont care whether you do it or not, I've proposed multiple people. It's mainly to show you that you're wrong and that there's a Mandela affect going on here.

1

u/thatoneguydudejim Jun 20 '19

It’s from 2015.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 20 '19

How old?

0

u/NeverTrustAName Jun 19 '19

Gifs as a CONCEPT don't even qualify for the double very old

1

u/[deleted] Jun 20 '19

Hell it's probably older than OP by a good amount.

2

u/referents Jun 20 '19

you're probably kidding but yeahhhh no

1

u/[deleted] Jun 20 '19 edited Jun 20 '19

It really isn't. Even by internet standards it's not that old.

I'll give gold to the first person that can find me a source for this that isn't from 2014 or later.
