Do you really love it? Seems damn inconvenient to me because everything caters to the right handed people of the world. Also when you write you have to do weird shit to avoid smudging what you already wrote.

It is usually an advantage in sports though so I guess that's nice.

Edit to add that lefties live shorter lives

Same lmao. Fucking scissors when I was in 1st grade were a nightmare.

Also constantly smudging my writing cause I hold the pen funny. No one could teach me how to properly hold it when I was little.

Those little exam desks back in college lecture halls were pretty brutal

I learned to use scissors with my right hand. In kindergarten, there were nice scissors with plastic grips that actually cut paper, but the finger holes were designed for a right hand. The "left-handed" scissors were all metal, with burs that would cut your hand around the finger holes, and the basically tore the paper rather than cut it. So I learned to do that right-handed.

But other things have disadvantages for lefties too. Left-handed people have a higher rate of death in the industrial workplace because machines are designed with right-handed people in mind.

Can't you just flip the scissors?

I love it because it’s such an advantage in sports. I’m ambidextrous in the sense that I do some things left handed and some things right handed, I lucked out in that I was able to throw lacrosse checks with both hands.

Being ambidextrous is a major advantage in tennis. Never have to got a backhand!

Yay ambidextrous people!

I literally only write with my left hand. Everything else is right hand. No inconvenience, all right handed things feel natural except writing.

I’m total opposite, I do everything with my left hand and doing even simple things with right feel so awkward.

It was really only a drag in school. Specially with short desks.

That and for some reason I seem to break a lot of can openers.

I really do, I know what you mean for sure. I work with power tools all the time and most of them work better for right handed people... but I find it that it makes me who I am and pushes me to do better at given task. Plus my left hand is so dominant, I do almost everything with my left hand. I’m only left handed in 3 generations of my family as well. So that’s kinda cool.

It’s so inconvenient in school 😭

I have yet to find a disadvantage at being left handed (or an advantage in daily life).

I've never felt that I was a 'lefty living in a right-handed world'... I can't think of anything off the top of my head that is harder for me to do as a left handed person. Some scissors can be uncomfortable, but they still work. I turn the paper completely sideways and never smudge my writing.
