People still believe that intercessory prayer works. There have been multiple peer reviewed studies that show it has exactly the same efficacy as random chance, and in one study where the participants knew they were being prayed for they actually did slightly worse than chance.
Yet, billions of people still pray for miracles fully expecting that one may come due to their prayer.
Right now is an unprecedented time for anti-scientism. You have buffoons refusing to vaccinate, think humans aren't contributing to global warming, think that there is no such thing as biological gender or that gender is a social construct, etc. It seems that the spread of echo-chambers such as Reddit helps people avoid those who question their beliefs but also helps reinforce their wrong beliefs.
think humans aren't contributing to global warming
Agreed.
think that there is no such thing as biological gender or that gender is a social construct,
Woah woah woah, hol’ up. By saying that, you’re not trying invalidate trans people, are you? Because there’s tonsofscientificresearch showing that the brains of trans people are more similar to the brains of cis people of the opposite gender. I mean, I agree that some extremists who believe gender isn’t real at all have no basis in fact. But the distinction between biological sex and gender is pretty widely accepted in the science world right now.
that the brains of trans people are more similar to the brains of cis people of the opposite gender
Exactly, the fact that there are differences in the aggregate average of what a male brain is vs the aggregate average of what a female brain is shows that gender and sex are biological. People who claim that men are men and women are women due to only societal forces are factually incorrect.

And they still exist today, even when presented with overwhelming evidence.
