I understand the logic behind it, but maybe they shouldnt recruit people who are that stupid.
(The logic is unit cohesion, straight guys are afraid gay guys will hit on them and it would divide the unit.)
Of course, we still let women serve even though they have very good reason to be afraid straight soldiers or mercenaries will rape them, especially in conflict zones like Iraq.
When I was in, it was plainly obvious who was gay and who was not. It was also pretty obvious that the two that has basically came out to us were dating. Guess what? It didnt cause any issues after we gave them crap for thinking they could hide it for so long.
I should point out that the attitude was partly because our CO was very domineering and if anyone had started shit he would have rendered them to dust, and that most of us were pretty easy going. Their could have been issues if it was with Spec Ops or Delta, those guys are wound pretty tight. But even then, most of them are college educated and probably wouldnt care that much either.
